Research for CST 515: Privacy|Speech|Social Networking Websites

I am enrolled in CST 515 Technology and Communication, as part of the requirements for a master's degree in Contemporary Communication. I have an undergraduate degree in English from Morgan State University. I have worked at Essence magazine in New York City and the Baltimore Teachers Union and Mercantile Bank, both in Baltimore. At present, I work at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. I have worked at CareFirst since 2007 and was recently promoted to Sr. Provider Communications Representative.

After years of working in various areas of communications, from education to banking, I felt that it was time for me to gain more practical knowledge of communications, and that is why I decided to pursue a master's degree. It is the best decision I have ever made. Upon completing my degreet, I plan to pursue more high level assignments that will showcase my skills and put me on the management track.

At home, I have a husband, Eric. This year makes five years that we have been married. We have two children, Myles, who will turn 3 in May and Maya, who will turn one in April. I am happy to be one of many women who can balance work and home. My husband has a master's degree so it is wonderful to have his support as I pursue mine. We make a great team.
