Before I started the Masters program in Contemporay Communications at NDM, I attended the College of Baltimore County for my AA then transferred to Towson Univeristy. I graduated from Towson University with a B.S. in English Literature. The highlight from my time at Towson was a semester abroad to study Jane Austen. I am a huge Jane Austen fan. I watch most of the remakes of her novels and read what I call spin off novels books based on characters of Austen's. I recently wrote a paper on a postmodern feminist approach to interpreting Austen's works. I try to reread one of her novels each year. Other than reading Austen, I read anything else that I can get my hands on including classical literature and the New Yorker Magazine.

If I am not reading, I am working. I currently work at Johns Hopkins in one of the Marketing and Communications Departments. I have been working for Hopkins only one year. I primarly write website content, design publications and graphics, buy and design adverstising (newspapers, billboards, buses), as well as purchase promotional items. This HealthLINK image is one that I created for a project that I am assigned to. Some of the adversting that I have created has been featured on Billboards in Carroll County and on the MTA buses. I currently write content for Johns Hopkins Healthcare websites. Before working at Hopkins, I taught English at Dundalk High School.

With the completion of my Masters Degree from NDM, I hope to return to teaching English. I would like to become a professor teaching English at either a local Community College or even University. And maybe after I teach and if I get bored... I would like to start my own business. Either a Bed and Breakfast or local Bakery. I can't decide. My husband and I often dream about owning our own Bed and Breakfast as a semi retirement dream. For the time being, I am trying to stay focused on making the most of the my time at Hopkins, but also keeping my eyes open for an opportunity to start Adjunct teaching on the side or preparing my resume for a change. And if I am not dreaming about the future or working at Hopkins, I am traveling with my husband, volunteering in my community and at my church, baking and cooking my way through the weekend, or spending endless hours watching the Food Network.
