Here is some information about me, Jill!

I was born and raised in Central, NJ and recently moved to Maryland in 2008. I attended Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ studying Public Relations. I really enjoyed the communications field so I decided to continue with my studies immediately after graduation. I was given the choice to attend Towson or The College of Notre Dame, but I knew liberal studies would be better for my overall graduate experience.


My studies here at The College of Notre Dame has been enjoyable and although I will complete my Masters Degree in December, I will leave with more knowledge than one can imagine. I only have one class after this semester in addition to my thesis assignment. I'm not sure what I will write about, but I am thinking of using the evolution of PR and Broadcast and how television and movies portray these times. I will have to find the right amount of material and research to go forward with this idea, but I have a feeling there won't be much out there...


I am employed in the Communications Dept. at Agora, Inc. Agora is a direct mail subscriber-based marketing company that writes about economics, health and travel advice. I have been working at Agora for over a year and the department has evolved a bit. For example, we have been giving a multitude of tasks to take care of ranging corporate events to presentations given to an audience by the CEO. I like my job, however I feel as though I'm stuck in an entry-level position. Hopefully my graduate degree will help move things along a little faster. I really like woreking for Agora because the job is flexible, the incentives are great and it's located right in the heart of the city, Mount Vernon. I don't have any other complaints except for the desire to excel to a more prominent position within the company.


As stated in the previous paragraph, I would like to advance in my company. One of the big time publishers is always in the media and news outlets talking about various claims he's made regarding the economy. I will like to work for him and have a more high-power position. I know I will have to earn my way to this position, but again I am crossing my fingers this happens. I interviewed with him not too long ago and haven't heard, but within time hopefully he will stop by my office to chat about an assignment he would like me to work on with him and his team. I know I will work hard to be his number one employee but I need to wait until given this opportunity.
